When the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds began to speak to one another, “Let us go across to Bethlehem and see this thing (rhēma | ῥῆμα | acc sg neut) that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.”
Fear came upon all who lived around them, and all these things (rhēmata | ῥήματα | nom pl neut) were being talked about throughout the whole hill country of Judea.
So Mary said, “Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it happen to me according to your word.” (rhēma | ῥῆμα | acc sg neut) Then the angel departed from her.
And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word (rhēma | ῥῆμα | acc sg neut) that Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And upon reflection, he broke into tears.
Then Peter remembered what (rhēmatos | ῥήματος | gen sg neut) Jesus had said, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you so that every matter (rhēma | ῥῆμα | nom sg neut) may be confirmed on the evidence of two or three witnesses.
