And they conscripted a certain passerby, Simon of Cyrene (the father of Alexander and Rufus) (Hrouphou | Ῥούφου | gen sg masc), as he was coming in from the country, to bear his cross.

Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth (Hrouth | Ῥούθ | gen sg fem), and Obed was the father of Jesse,

from the tribe of Judah twelve thousand sealed, from the tribe of Reuben (Hroubēn | Ῥουβήν | gen sg masc) twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,

And the rest were killed by the sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαίᾳ | dat sg fem) that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse; and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.

From his mouth extends a sharp sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαία | nom sg fem) so that with it he can strike down the nations. He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the furious wrath of God the Almighty.

And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades was following with him. And authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαίᾳ | dat sg fem) and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.

Therefore repent! Otherwise, I will come to you without delay and will fight against them with the sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαίᾳ | dat sg fem) of my mouth.

“To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The one who has the sharp two-edged sword (rhomphaian | ῥομφαίαν | acc sg fem) has this to say:

In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαία | nom sg fem), and his face was shining like the sun at full strength.

(and a sword (rhomphaia | ῥομφαία | nom sg fem) will pierce your own soul also), that thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
