To the one who strikes you on the cheek (siagona | σιαγόνα | acc sg fem), offer the other also; and from the one who takes your coat, do not withhold even your shirt.
But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer; but whoever slaps you on the right cheek (siagona | σιαγόνα | acc sg fem), turn to him the other as well.
And the God of all grace, the one who has called you into his eternal glory in Christ, will, after you have suffered a little while, himself restore, confirm, strengthen (sthenōsei | σθενώσει | fut act ind 3 sg), and establish you.
Sell your possessions and give alms. Make for yourselves moneybags that do not wear out, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth (sēs | σής | nom sg masc) destroys.
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth (sēs | σής | nom sg masc) nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Come now, you who say, “Today (sēmeron | σήμερον | adverb) or tomorrow we will go to some city and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”
