But lest we offend (skandalisōmen | σκανδαλίσωμεν | aor act subj 1 pl) them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin; take it and give it to them for the two of us.”

Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were (eskandalisthēsan | ἐσκανδαλίσθησαν | aor pass ind 3 pl) offended (eskandalisthēsan | ἐσκανδαλίσθησαν | aor pass ind 3 pl) when they heard what you said?”

And they were deeply offended (eskandalizonto | ἐσκανδαλίζοντο | imperf pass ind 3 pl) at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.”

yet he has no root in himself but lasts only a short time, and when suffering or persecution arises on account of the message, immediately he falls (skandalizetai | σκανδαλίζεται | pres pass ind 3 sg) away.

And blessed is the one who does (skandalisthē | σκανδαλισθῇ | aor pass subj 3 sg) not stumble (skandalisthē | σκανδαλισθῇ | aor pass subj 3 sg) because of me.”

And if your right hand causes (skandalizei | σκανδαλίζει | pres act ind 3 sg) you to (skandalizei | σκανδαλίζει | pres act ind 3 sg) sin (skandalizei | σκανδαλίζει | pres act ind 3 sg), cut it off and throw it away for it is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell.

And the Lord said to Paul during the night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do (siōpēsēs | σιωπήσῃς | aor act subj 2 sg) not be silent (siōpēsēs | σιωπήσῃς | aor act subj 2 sg),

He answered, “I tell you, if these are silent (siōpēsousin | σιωπήσουσιν | fut act ind 3 pl), the stones will cry out.”

And now you will be reduced to silence (siōpōn | σιωπῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) and not be able to speak until the day in which these things happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.”
