But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your (sou | σου | gen sg 2nd) heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down),
But who are you (sy | σύ | nom sg 2nd), a mere mortal, to criticize God? Certainly the thing that is molded may not say to the one who molded it, “Why have you made me like this?”
For the scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you (se | σε | acc sg 2nd) up, that I might display my power in you (soi | σοί | dat sg 2nd), and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
neither are they all children of Abraham because they are his descendants; on the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your (soi | σοι | dat sg 2nd) descendants will be named.”
Hoping against hope, Abraham believed that he would become the father of many nations according to what had been spoken, “So will your (sou | σου | gen sg 2nd) descendants be.”
As it is written, “I have made you (se | σε | acc sg 2nd) the father of many nations.” He is our father, in the presence of God in whom he believed, the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being the things that do not exist.
By no means! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written, “so that you may be justified in your (sou | σου | gen sg 2nd) words and prevail when you (se | σε | acc sg 2nd) are judged.”
And will not the one who by nature is uncircumcised yet fulfills the law judge you (se | σέ | acc sg 2nd) who have the written code and circumcision yet are a transgressor of the law?
