An angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) of the Lord suddenly appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terribly afraid.

So Mary said, “Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) departed from her.

And the angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) answered, saying to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you: therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.

Mary said to the angel (angelon | ἄγγελον | acc sg masc), “How will this be, since I have no sexual relationship with a man?”

And the angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

In the sixth month the angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth,

But Zechariah said to the angel (angelon | ἄγγελον | acc sg masc), “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years?”

But the angel (angelos | ἄγγελος | nom sg masc) said to him: “Do not fear, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will call his name John.
