because of the truth (alētheian | ἀλήθειαν | acc sg fem) that abides in us and will be with us forever:

The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth (alētheia | ἀληθείᾳ | dat sg fem) (and not I alone, but also all who know the truth) (alētheian | ἀλήθειαν | acc sg fem),

This is the one who came by water and blood — Jesus Christ; not by water only but by water and blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth (alētheia | ἀλήθεια | nom sg fem).

We are from God. The person who knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth (alētheias | ἀληθείας | gen sg fem) and the spirit of error.

And by this we will know that we are of the truth (alētheias | ἀληθείας | gen sg fem) and will set our conscience at rest in his presence,

Little children, let us love, not in word or speech but in action and truth (alētheia | ἀληθείᾳ | dat sg fem).

I write to you, not because you do not know the truth (alētheian | ἀλήθειαν | acc sg fem), but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth (alētheias | ἀληθείας | gen sg fem).

The one who says, “I know God,” yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar and the truth (alētheia | ἀλήθεια | nom sg fem) is not in him.

If we say that we are without sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth (alētheia | ἀλήθεια | nom sg fem) is not in us.

If we say that we have fellowship with him but continue to walk in darkness, we lie and are not putting the truth (alētheian | ἀλήθειαν | acc sg fem) into practice.
