Then Jesus, as he was teaching in the temple, cried out, saying, know me, and you know where I am from? I have not come on my own. But the one who sent me is true (alēthinos | ἀληθινός | nom sg masc), and him you do not know;
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the solemn truth, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true (alēthinon | ἀληθινόν | acc sg masc) bread from heaven.
But the hour is coming, and is here already, when true (alēthinoi | ἀληθινοί | nom pl masc) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for indeed the Father is seeking just such people to be his worshipers.
Therefore if in unrighteous wealth you have not been faithful, who will entrust to you that which is of true (alēthinon | ἀληθινόν | acc sg neut) value?
Everyone has testified favorably regarding Demetrius, and so has the truth itself. And we testify for him as well, and you know that our testimony is true (alēthēs | ἀληθής | nom sg fem).
But the anointing you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true (alēthes | ἀληθές | nom sg neut) and not a lie, just as it has taught you, abide in him.
Yet it is a new commandment that I write to you, one that is true (alēthes | ἀληθές | nom sg neut) in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
What has happened to them illustrates the true (alēthous | ἀληθοῦς | gen sg fem) proverb: “A dog returns to its own vomit, and a sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”
