Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober-minded, and set your hope completely (teleiōs | τελείως | adverb) on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. So the one who fears has (teteleiōtai | τετελείωται | perf pass ind 3 sg) not been perfected (teteleiōtai | τετελείωται | perf pass ind 3 sg) in love.
By this, love is fully realized (teteleiōtai | τετελείωται | perf pass ind 3 sg) among us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because just as he is, so also are we in this world.
No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his love has achieved (teteleiōmenē | τετελειωμένη | perf pass ptcp nom sg fem) its (teteleiōmenē | τετελειωμένη | perf pass ptcp nom sg fem) goal (teteleiōmenē | τετελειωμένη | perf pass ptcp nom sg fem) in us.
But whoever keeps his word, truly in that person is the love of God brought to fulfillment (teteleiōtai | τετελείωται | perf pass ind 3 sg). This is how we can be sure that we are in him:
You see that faith was at work along with his works and that his faith was (eteleiōthē | ἐτελειώθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) made (eteleiōthē | ἐτελειώθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) complete (eteleiōthē | ἐτελειώθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) by his works.
and to the assembly of the firstborn whose names are inscribed in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous who have been made perfect (teteleiōmenōn | τετελειωμένων | perf pass ptcp gen pl masc),
For since the law is but a shadow of the good things to come and not the actual form of those realities, it can never perfect (teleiōsai | τελειῶσαι | aor act inf ) those who draw near by the same sacrifices which they offer continuously year after year.
