For false christs and false prophets will arise and will offer signs and wonders (terata | τέρατα | acc pl neut) in order to deceive, if possible, the elect.
For false messiahs and false prophets will appear, and they will perform great signs and wonders (terata | τέρατα | acc pl neut) so as to lead astray, if that were possible, even the elect.
After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax (telōnion | τελώνιον | acc sg neut) booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.”

The tax (telōnēs | τελώνης | nom sg masc) collector, however, standing at a distance, would not even raise his eyes to heaven, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
The Pharisee stood and prayed like this to himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of mankind — swindlers, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax (telōnēs | τελώνης | nom sg masc) collector.
