But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits for salvation, by sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth.

For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judea; because you too suffered the same things from (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) your own countrymen, even as they did from (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) the Jews,

but just as we have been approved by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but God who tests our hearts.

We know, brothers loved by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) God, that he has chosen you,

Let no one rob you of your prize, insisting on self-abasement and the worship of angels, taking his stand on visions, puffed up with empty notions by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) his earthly way of thinking.
