When Jesus had finished saying these things, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour (hōra | ὥρα | nom sg fem) has come; glorify your Son so that your Son may glorify you,
Behold, the hour (hōra | ὥρα | nom sg fem) is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own place, and you will leave me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
“I have told you these things using veiled language. The hour (hōra | ὥρα | nom sg fem) is coming when I will no longer speak to you in veiled language but will tell you plainly about the Father.
When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour (hōra | ὥρα | nom sg fem) has come; but when the baby is born, she no longer remembers the anguish, because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.
But I have said these things to you so that when their hour (hōra | ὥρα | nom sg fem) comes you will remember that I told you about them. “I did not tell you these things at the start because I was with you.
