“And when you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces so that they will appear to others as fasting; I tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) the truth, they have their reward.

but if you do not forgive others their offenses, neither will your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) Father forgive your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) offenses.

“For if you forgive others their offenses, your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) heavenly Father will also forgive you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd);

Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be revered,

Do not be like them, for your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) Father knows what you need before you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) ask him.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in synagogues and on street corners that they may be seen by others. I tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) the truth, they have received their reward.

So whenever you give alms do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. I tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) the truth, they have received their reward.

“Take care not to perform your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) good deeds before others so as to be seen by them; otherwise you have no reward from your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) Father who is in heaven.

You (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd), however, are to be perfect, as your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) heavenly Father is perfect.

And if you greet only your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
