There was in the days of Herod, king of Judah, a certain priest by the name of Zechariah, of the priestly division of Abijah (Abia | Ἀβιά | gen sg masc); and his wife was from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam was the father of Abijah (Abia | Ἀβιά | acc sg masc), and Abijah (Abia | Ἀβιά | nom sg masc) was the father of Asaph,

and to Jesus, mediator of a new covenant, and to sprinkled blood speaking more effectively than the blood of Abel (Habel | Ἅβελ | acc sg masc).

By faith Abel (Habel | Ἅβελ | nom sg masc) offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which faith he was attested as righteous, God himself showing his approval by accepting his gifts. And though he died, he still speaks through his faith.

from the blood of Abel (Habel | Ἅβελ | gen sg masc) to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be charged against this generation.

so that upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel (Habel | Ἅβελ | gen sg masc) to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.

And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who cries out “Abba! (abba | ἀββα | voc sg masc) Father!”

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading back to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption. By him we cry out, “Abba! (abba | ἀββα | voc sg masc) Father!”

And he said, “Abba (abba | ἀββα | voc sg masc), Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

And when I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for when the brothers came from Macedonia they supplied my need.
