“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters (adelphas | ἀδελφάς | acc pl fem), and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
But Martha was distracted by a lot of preparation. She burst in and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister (adelphē | ἀδελφή | nom sg fem) has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me.”
She had a sister (adelphē | ἀδελφή | nom sg fem) called Mary, who, after she had seated herself at the feet of the Lord, was listening to his teaching.
who will not receive one hundredfold now in this present time — houses and brothers and sisters (adelphas | ἀδελφάς | acc pl fem) and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions — and in the coming age, eternal life.
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, there is no one who has left home or brothers or sisters (adelphas | ἀδελφάς | acc pl fem) or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel
Is this man not Is the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not his sisters (adelphai | ἀδελφαί | nom pl fem) his here with us?” And they were deeply offended at him.
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters (adelphas | ἀδελφάς | acc pl fem) or father or mother or children or lands for my name’s sake will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.
