To those who were selling doves he said, “Take (arate | ἄρατε | aor act imperative 2 pl) those out of here! Do not make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
On the following day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, the one who takes (airōn | αἴρων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) away the sin of the world!
But they cried out together, saying, “Take (aire | αἶρε | pres act imperative 2 sg) this man away! (aire | αἶρε | pres act imperative 2 sg) Release for us Barabbas!”
He said to them, “But now let (aratō | ἀράτω | aor act imperative 3 sg) the one who has a moneybag take (aratō | ἀράτω | aor act imperative 3 sg) it, and likewise a knapsack. And the one who has no sword, let him sell his cloak and buy one.
I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given; but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken (arthēsetai | ἀρθήσεται | fut pass ind 3 sg) away.
He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, wicked servant. You knew, did you, that I am an exacting man, taking (airōn | αἴρων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?
for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man: you take (aireis | αἴρεις | pres act ind 2 sg) up what you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.’
