This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
There is much more to this word than we are presenting here. Its form changes considerably in its different genders. οὗτος is covered in detail in chapter 13. As an adjective it means "this" (singular) and "these" (plural), and as a noun it means "this one."

| 1 Corinthians 4:14 | I am not writing these (tauta | ταῦτα | acc pl neut) things (tauta | ταῦτα | acc pl neut) to shame you, but to admonish you as my dear children. |
| 1 Corinthians 4:17 | That is why I sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my ways in Christ Jesus, as I teach them everywhere in every church. |
| 1 Corinthians 5:2 | And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to have mourned, so that the man who did this (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut) deed would be removed from your midst? |
| 1 Corinthians 5:3 | For though I am absent in body, I am present in spirit; and I have already passed judgment on the one who did this (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut), just as though I were present. |

| 1 Corinthians 6:6 | but brother goes to court against brother, and that (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut) before unbelievers? |
| 1 Corinthians 6:8 | But you yourselves wrong and defraud, and this (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut) to your own brothers! |
| 1 Corinthians 6:11 | And some of you were guilty of these (tauta | ταῦτα | nom pl neut) abominations! But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. |
| 1 Corinthians 6:13 | “Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food” — and God will destroy both the one (tautēn | ταύτην | acc sg fem) and the other (tauta | ταῦτα | acc pl neut). But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body; |
| 1 Corinthians 7:6 | This (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut) I say by way of concession, not of command. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:12 | To the rest I say (I, not the Lord): If some brother has a wife who is not a believer, and she (hautē | αὕτη | nom sg fem) is willing to live with him, he should not divorce her. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:13 | And if some woman has a husband who is not a believer, and he (houtos | οὗτος | nom sg masc) is willing to live with her, she should not divorce him. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:20 | Let each person continue in that (tautē | ταύτῃ | dat sg fem) condition (tautē | ταύτῃ | dat sg fem) in which he was called. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:24 | Each one in the condition in which he was called, brothers, in that (toutō | τούτῳ | dat sg neut) condition let him remain with God. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:26 | I think, then, that this (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut) is good because of the present distress — that it is good for a man to remain as he is. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:29 | And I say this (touto | τοῦτο | acc sg neut), my brothers: the time has grown short. From now on those who have wives should be as though they had none, |
| 1 Corinthians 7:31 | and those who use the world as though they were not absorbed in it. For the form of this (toutou | τούτου | gen sg masc) world is passing away. |
