All hail the power of Jesus' name,
let angels prostrate fall.
| John 9:7 | and said to him, “Go, wash in the (tēn | τήν | acc sg fem) pool of (tou | τοῦ | gen sg masc) Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away and washed, and came back able to see. |
| John 9:8 | Then the (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) neighbors and those (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) who were used to seeing him as a beggar said, “Is not this the (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man who used to sit and beg?” |
| John 9:10 | So they asked him, “How then were your eyes opened?” |
| John 9:11 | He answered, “The (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man called Jesus made mud, daubed it on my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went there and washed, and I was able to see.” |
| John 9:13 | They brought to the (tous | τούς | acc pl masc) Pharisees the man who (ton | τόν | acc sg masc) had been blind. |
| John 9:14 | Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the (ton | τόν | acc sg masc) mud and opened his eyes. |
| John 9:15 | Then the (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. And he (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) said to them, “He daubed mud on my eyes, and I washed, and now I see.” |
| John 9:16 | Then some of the (tōn | τῶν | gen pl masc) Pharisees said, “This man is not from God because he does not keep the (to | τό | acc sg neut) Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a sinful man perform miraculous signs like this?” And there was a division among them. |
| John 9:17 | So they spoke again to the (tō | τῷ | dat sg masc) blind man, “What do you say about him, since it was your eyes that he opened?” The (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man replied, “He is a prophet.” |
| John 9:18 | The (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) Jews did not believe the report about him, that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the (tous | τούς | acc pl masc) parents of the man who (tou | τοῦ | gen sg masc) had received his sight |
| John 9:19 | and asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?” |
| John 9:20 | His parents answered, saying, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind; |
| John 9:21 | but how it is that he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him, he is an adult. He will speak for himself.” |
| John 9:22 | His parents said this because they were afraid of the (tous | τούς | acc pl masc) Jews; for the (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be the Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue. |
| John 9:23 | For this reason his parents said, “He is an adult, ask him.” |
| John 9:24 | So for the second time they called the (ton | τόν | acc sg masc) man who had been blind and said to him, “Give the glory to (tō | τῷ | dat sg masc) God! We know that this man is a sinner.” |
| John 9:26 | Therefore they said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?” |
| John 9:28 | Then they scoffed at him, saying, “You are a disciple of that man! But we are disciples of (tou | τοῦ | gen sg masc) Moses! |
| John 9:29 | We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this fellow, we do not even know where he comes from.” |
| John 9:30 | The (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man responded to them, saying, “This is an (to | τό | nom sg neut) amazing thing, that you do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes! |
| John 9:31 | We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is devout and does his will, God listens to him. |
| John 9:32 | Not since time began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. |
| John 9:35 | Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the (ton | τόν | acc sg masc) Son of (tou | τοῦ | gen sg masc) Man?” |
| John 9:37 | Jesus said to him, “You have seen him; in fact, he is the (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) one speaking with you.” |
| John 9:38 | Then the (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man said, “I believe, Lord,” and he bowed in reverence before him. |
