John 9:19 and asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
John 9:20 His parents answered, saying, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind;
John 9:21 but how it is that he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him, he is an adult. He will speak for himself.”
John 9:22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the (tous | τούς | acc pl masc) Jews; for the (hoi | οἱ | nom pl masc) Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be the Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.
John 9:23 For this reason his parents said, “He is an adult, ask him.”

John 9:26 Therefore they said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
John 9:28 Then they scoffed at him, saying, “You are a disciple of that man! But we are disciples of (tou | τοῦ | gen sg masc) Moses!
John 9:29 We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this fellow, we do not even know where he comes from.”
John 9:30 The (ho | ὁ | nom sg masc) man responded to them, saying, “This is an (to | τό | nom sg neut) amazing thing, that you do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes!
John 9:31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is devout and does his will, God listens to him.
John 9:32 Not since time began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.
