I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies (apothanē | ἀποθάνῃ | aor act subj 3 sg), it remains a single kernel; but if it dies (apothanē | ἀποθάνῃ | aor act subj 3 sg) it produces a great harvest.
