For the unbelieving husband is consecrated (hēgiastai | ἡγίασται | perf pass ind 3 sg) through union with his wife, and the unbelieving wife is consecrated (hēgiastai | ἡγίασται | perf pass ind 3 sg) through union with her husband. Otherwise your children would be defiled, but as it is, they are holy.
