and mortal life shall cease
| Romans 1:3 | the gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh (sarka | σάρκα | acc sg fem), |
| Romans 2:28 | For that person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem). |
| Romans 3:20 | So by the works of the law no flesh (sarx | σάρξ | nom sg fem) will be justified before him, because through the law comes the knowledge of sin. |
| Romans 4:1 | What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh (sarka | σάρκα | acc sg fem), has discovered about this? |
| Romans 6:19 | (I am speaking in human terms because of your natural (sarkos | σαρκός | gen sg fem) limitations.) For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to sanctification. |
| Romans 7:5 | For while we were living in the flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem), our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our bodies to bear fruit for death. |

| Romans 7:25 | Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem) I serve the law of sin. |

| Romans 8:6 | To set the mind on the flesh (sarkos | σαρκός | gen sg fem) leads to death, but to set the mind on the Spirit brings life and peace, |
| Romans 8:7 | because the mind set on the flesh (sarkos | σαρκός | gen sg fem) is hostile to God; it does not submit to the law of God; in fact, it cannot. |
| Romans 8:8 | Those controlled by the flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem) cannot please God. |
| Romans 8:9 | You, however, are not controlled by the flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem) but by the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. |
| Romans 8:12 | So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh (sarki | σαρκί | dat sg fem), to live according to the flesh (sarka | σάρκα | acc sg fem), |
| Romans 8:13 | for if you live according to the flesh (sarka | σάρκα | acc sg fem), you will certainly die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. |
| Romans 9:3 | For I could wish that I myself were accursed, cut off from Christ, for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh (sarka | σάρκα | acc sg fem), |
