From that point on Pilate tried to release (apolysai | ἀπολῦσαι | aor act inf ) him, but the Jews kept shouting out, saying, “If you (apolysēs | ἀπολύσῃς | aor act subj 2 sg) release (apolysēs | ἀπολύσῃς | aor act subj 2 sg) this man, you are no ‘Friend of Caesar.’ Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.”
