So whenever you give (poiēs | ποιῇς | pres act subj 2 sg) alms do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do (poiousin | ποιοῦσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward.
