It is the bridegroom who has the bride; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands (hestēkōs | ἑστηκώς | perf act ptcp nom sg masc) by and listens for him, rejoices greatly when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
