From that point on Pilate tried to release him, but the Jews (Ioudaioi | Ἰουδαῖοι | nom pl masc) kept shouting out, saying, “If you release this man, you are no ‘Friend of Caesar.’ Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.”
