Definition
God, god
God, god
Theology is the study of God.
God of our fathers, whose almighty hand.
“ ‘Emmanuel’ is translated ‘θεός is with us.’ ” (Matt 1:23)
“I found also an altar on which was inscribed, ‘To an unknown θεός.’ ” (Acts 17:23)
| Galatians 3:11 | Now it is clear that no one is justified before God (theō | θεῷ | dat sg masc) by the law, because “it is by faith that the righteous person will live.” |
| Galatians 3:17 | What I am saying is this: the law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously established by God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc), so as to make the promise void. |
| Galatians 3:18 | For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) gave it to Abraham through a promise. |
| Galatians 3:20 | Now a mediator is not for one party only, but God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) is one. |
| Galatians 3:21 | Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc)? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. |
| Galatians 3:26 | For you are all sons of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc) through faith in Christ Jesus. |
| Galatians 4:4 | But when the fullness of time had come, God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law, |
| Galatians 4:6 | And because you are sons, God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who cries out “Abba! Father!” |
| Galatians 4:7 | So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, then you are an heir through God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc). |
| Galatians 4:8 | Formerly, when you did not know God (theon | θεόν | acc sg masc), you were enslaved to those who by nature are not gods (theois | θεοῖς | dat pl masc). |
| Galatians 4:9 | But now that you have come to know God (theon | θεόν | acc sg masc) — or rather, are known by God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc) — how can you turn back again to the feeble and inferior elementary principles of the world? How can you want to be their slaves all over again? |
| Galatians 4:14 | and though my condition was a trial to you, you did not despise or reject me, but you welcomed me as an angel of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc), as though I were Christ Jesus. |
| Galatians 5:21 | envyings, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before: those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God! (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc) |
| Galatians 6:7 | Do not be deceived: God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) is not mocked. For whatever a person sows, that will he also reap. |
| Galatians 6:16 | As for all who will follow this rule — may peace and mercy be upon them, even upon the Israel of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc). |
| Ephesians 1:1 | Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc), to the saints who are in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: |
| Ephesians 1:2 | Grace to you and peace from God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc) our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| Ephesians 1:3 | Blessed be the God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, |
| Ephesians 1:17 | that the God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation by coming to know more of him. |
| Ephesians 2:4 | But God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc), being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, |
| Ephesians 2:8 | For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc); |
| Ephesians 2:10 | For we are his work, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God (theos | θεός | nom sg masc) prepared in advance that we should do them. |
| Ephesians 2:16 | and to reconcile both to God (theō | θεῷ | dat sg masc) in one body through the cross, having put the hostility to death in himself. |
| Ephesians 2:19 | So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc), |
| Ephesians 2:22 | in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God (theou | θεοῦ | gen sg masc) by the Spirit. |
