law, principle
An autonomous (aujtovnomoV) person is self-governed.
| 1 Corinthians 14:21 | In the Law (nomō | νόμῳ | dat sg masc) it is written, “By people with strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, yet not even in this way will they listen to me, says the Lord.” |
| 1 Corinthians 14:34 | the women are to be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. Rather, they are to be submissive, as in fact the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) says. |
| 1 Corinthians 15:56 | The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc). |
| Galatians 2:16 | yet we know that no one is justified by the works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc) but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc), since no one will be justified by the works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc). |
| Galatians 2:19 | For through the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc) I died to the law (nomō | νόμῳ | dat sg masc) so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ; |
| Galatians 2:21 | I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness could be gained through the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc), then Christ died for nothing! |
| Galatians 3:2 | Only this I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc) or by hearing with faith? |
| Galatians 3:5 | So does the one who gives you the Spirit and works miracles among you do it by works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc), or by hearing with faith? |
| Galatians 3:10 | For all who rely on works of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc) are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things written in the book of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc), to do them.” |
| Galatians 3:11 | Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law (nomō | νόμῳ | dat sg masc), because “it is by faith that the righteous person will live.” |
| Galatians 3:12 | However, the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) is not of faith; on the contrary, it teaches that “the one who does them will live by them.” |
| Galatians 3:13 | Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc) by becoming a curse for us — for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree” — |
| Galatians 3:17 | What I am saying is this: the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc), which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously established by God, so as to make the promise void. |
| Galatians 3:18 | For if the inheritance is based on law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc), it is no longer based on a promise; but God gave it to Abraham through a promise. |
| Galatians 3:19 | Why then was the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) given? It was added because of transgressions, until the descendant should come to whom the promise had been made. It was established through angels by a mediator. |
| Galatians 3:21 | Is the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc), therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law (nomou | νόμου | gen sg masc). |
| Galatians 3:23 | Now before faith came, we were held in custody under the law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc), imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. |
| Galatians 3:24 | Thus the law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) was our disciplinarian until the time of Christ, so that we might be declared righteous by faith. |
| Galatians 4:4 | But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc), |
| Galatians 4:5 | to redeem those who were under law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc), so that we might receive adoption as sons. |
| Galatians 4:21 | Tell me, you who want to be under the law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc), will you not listen to the law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc)? |
| Galatians 5:3 | And furthermore I declare to every man who agrees to circumcision that he is obligated to obey the entire law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc). |
| Galatians 5:4 | You have cut yourself off from Christ, you who are trying to be justified by the law (nomō | νόμῳ | dat sg masc); you have fallen away from grace. |
| Galatians 5:14 | For the entire law (nomos | νόμος | nom sg masc) is summed up in a single command: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” |
| Galatians 5:18 | But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (nomon | νόμον | acc sg masc). |
