I
I
The Ego is the "I" or "self" of a person.
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to him I freely give.
“ἐγώ say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matt 5:44)
| John 7:19 | “Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?” (me | με | acc sg 1st) |
| John 7:23 | If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me (emoi | ἐμοί | dat sg 1st) because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath? |
| John 7:28 | Then Jesus, as he was teaching in the temple, cried out, saying, know me, and you know where I am from? I have not come on my own. But the one who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st) is true, and him you do not know; |
| John 7:29 | but I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) know him, because I am from him and he it is who sent me.” (me | με | acc sg 1st) |
| John 7:33 | Then Jesus said, “I will be with you for a little while longer, and then I am going back to the one who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st). |
| John 7:34 | You will look for me (me | με | acc sg 1st), but you will not find me (me | με | acc sg 1st); and where I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am, you cannot go.” |
| John 7:36 | What can it mean, this saying of his: ‘You will look for me (me | με | acc sg 1st) but you will not find me,’ (me | με | acc sg 1st) and ‘Where I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am you cannot go’?” |
| John 7:37 | On the last day of the festival, the great day, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me (me | με | acc sg 1st) and drink. |
| John 7:38 | The one who believes in me (eme | ἐμέ | acc sg 1st), as the scripture says, “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” |
| John 8:11 | She said, “No one, Lord.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” |
| John 8:12 | Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am the light of the world. The one who follows me (emoi | ἐμοί | dat sg 1st) will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” |
| John 8:14 | Jesus answered them, saying, “Even if I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am bearing witness about myself, my (mou | μου | gen sg 1st) testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. You, on the other hand, do not know where I come from or where I am going. |
| John 8:15 | You judge according to human standards; I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) judge no one. |
| John 8:16 | But even if I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) do judge, my judgment is trustworthy, because it is not I alone who judge, but I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) and the Father who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st). |
| John 8:18 | I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st) also bears witness about me.” (emou | ἐμοῦ | gen sg 1st) |
| John 8:19 | Then they began asking him, “Where is your father?” Jesus replied, “You know neither me (eme | ἐμέ | acc sg 1st) nor my (mou | μου | gen sg 1st) Father. If you knew me (eme | ἐμέ | acc sg 1st) you would know my (mou | μου | gen sg 1st) Father also.” |
| John 8:21 | Then he said to them again, “I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am going away, and you will search for me (me | με | acc sg 1st) but will die in your sin. Where I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am going, you cannot come.” |
| John 8:22 | So the Jews said, “Surely he is not going to kill himself, is he, because he said, ‘Where I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am going, you cannot come’?” |
| John 8:23 | He said to them, “You are from below; I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am from above. You are of this world; I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am not of this world. |
| John 8:24 | This is why I said to you that you would die in your sins, for if you do not believe that I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am he, you will die in your sins.” |
| John 8:26 | I have many things to say about you by way of judgment; but the one who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st) is truthful, and I say to the world only that which I have heard from him.” |
| John 8:28 | So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) am he. I do nothing on my own, but speak only those things the Father has taught me (me | με | acc sg 1st). |
| John 8:29 | And the one who sent me (me | με | acc sg 1st) is with me (emou | ἐμοῦ | gen sg 1st); he has not left me (me | με | acc sg 1st) alone, for I (egō | ἐγώ | nom sg 1st) always do what is pleasing to him.” |
| John 8:31 | Jesus therefore said to the Jews who had put their trust in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my (mou | μού | gen sg 1st) disciples, |
| John 8:37 | I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; but you are intent on killing me (me | με | acc sg 1st), because my teaching makes no headway in you. |
