You belong to your father the devil, and your will is to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning (archēs | ἀρχῆς | gen sg fem) and never did stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he is giving expression to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
