But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men (anthrōpous | ἀνθρώπους | acc pl masc) who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and now would they send us away in secret? No indeed! They themselves must come and escort us out.”
