Jesus was praying (proseuchomenon | προσευχόμενον | pres mid ptcp acc sg masc) in a certain place, and when he finished one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray (proseuchesthai | προσεύχεσθαι | pres mid inf ), just as John taught his disciples.”
