He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness (dikaiosynēs | δικαιοσύνης | gen sg fem) that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would be the father of all who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too might have righteousness (dikaiosynēn | δικαιοσύνην | acc sg fem) credited to them.
