Possible topics
New Believers. I wrote the new believer's curriculum available at BiblicalTraining.org and can spend time helping you learn to use the curriculum, deal with the types of questions that come up, and discuss related issues.
Greek Tools for Bible Study. Do you want your people to know how to use the Bible study tools that will give them access to the Greek Bible without learning Greek? My trilogy -- The Zondervan Greek and English Interlinear, Mounce's Expository Dictionary, and Greek for the Rest of Us, all published by Zondervan -- are designed to do specifically that. This seminar can walk your people through this material.
Life is a Journey. The Christian life is not about isolated events here and there, a hand raised at camp, attending fifth grade Sunday School, going to church periodically. Life is about the narrow gate and path, about going through the process of conversion and all that God does and our response, and about the necessity of walking the narrow path. This topic can cover one sermon or an entire week of talks that approximates a catechism.
Pastoral Epistles. I wrote the commentary on the Pastoral Epistles in the Word Biblical Commentary series. It is a major defense of Pauline authorship, and a detailed discussion of the text within the context of Paul's life. The Pastorals contain a tremendous amount of information about leadership, heresy, conflict, and many other issues that come up in church life. I prefer not to speak on the women's issue as it is only five verses out of thirteen chapters in the three letters. There is so much more to be learned from the Pastorals.
